About Thomas Lay

We are a student-run organization, sponsored by the University of Georgia Honors Program, established in the Spring of 2006. The program is housed at the Thomas N. Lay Park Community Center within walking distance of UGA campus. There are at least two Head Mentors and a member of the Executive Board on duty every day to supervise and answer any questions. Each semester, the program is supported by an estimated 300 student volunteers. The majority of the kids enrolled attend Barrow Elementary and Clarke Central Middle School.

Mentor | Serve | Have Fun

MENTORSHIP
Our ultimate mission is providing educational assistance while developing positive relationships with children ages five and above in a safe and fun environment.
CLUBS
We have daily clubs for interactive learning and creativity! Clubs change each semester but popular ones included cooking club, art club, science club, performance club, nature club, and more!
FRIDAYS
On Fridays, we invite outside organizations to do a fun activity with our students. Our kids love to do these fun activities and meet new mentors.
EVENTS
We also assist Thomas Lay in hosting some seasonal events like their annual haunted house and easter egg hunt as well as have a yearly holiday event for our students!
