About Thomas Lay

We are a student-run organization, sponsored by the University of Georgia Honors Program, established in the Spring of 2006. The program is housed at the Thomas N. Lay Park Community Center. There are at least two Head Mentors and a member of the Executive Board on duty every day to supervise and answer any questions. Each semester, the program is supported by an estimated 300 student volunteers. The majority of the kids enrolled attend Barrow Elementary and Clarke Central Middle School. Our volunteers represent a wide variety of majors, diverse interests and a range of campus organizations. No prior training is required to volunteer.
